Let the Dogs Off the Chain

I’ve said this more than once in articles and on the podcast (The Elsa Kurt Show with Clay Novak): We need to elevate the War on Drugs to a real war and end the cartels. There is one way to do that.

Let the Dogs Off the Chain.

It is time for the United States to employ every asset in our military to attack and destroy the cartels.

I am not talking about Nancy Reagan and her “War on Drugs” that birthed public service announcements with frying eggs or school programs like D.A.R.E. or the “Say No to Drugs” slogan. I am talking about putting the drug cartels in the same box as terror organizations and start putting military assets in play to demolish them.

I think this should be the very first thing President Trump should do when he regains his seat in the Oval Office. Literally “Priority Number 1”.

I am sure you have images in your head derived from a number of action movies over the years. Men dressed in all black, kicking in the doors of glass filled mansions, clearing rooms and killing bad guys. That would be a small part of it, sure. Frankly, it would be the most dangerous part and generate the most impact on the cartel leadership. To know the best trained killers IN THE WORLD could show up on your doorstep at any time will definitely raise your blood pressure, but that isn’t all of it.

For far too long, these cartels have been treated as businesses and as criminals and not as an enemy. How do you think things would be if we didn’t seize drug shipments, but destroyed them instead? How often do you think a cartel leader would get into his private jet if he knew an F-22 Raptor would blow his Gulfstream out of the sky given an opportunity? Or instead of seizing a cargo ship at a US Port of entry, it was blown apart by a submarine launched torpedo? Or what about a known drug processing facility being smashed by a drone strike?

These cartel leaders have lived untouched lives for too long, only worried about their competitors and not about the United States government. They know our laws. They have lawyers. They know the system. They aren’t afraid because we continue to treat them like criminals. They are NOT criminals. They are animals and a threat to our society. We need to up the game and bring levels of violence against these organizations and against their leaders like they have never experienced.

There are benefits beyond the dismantling of the drug funnel moving into the United States.

This elevated war will require support from other nations that clearly cannot, or will not, take on the cartels themselves. So, we will rapidly find out which of these foreign governments are in the “will not” category. If a country refuses to allow us access or provide support, we execute operations anyway and expose who is working with or for the cartels in the process.

The cartels also work with known terror organizations to traffic money, drugs, and people into the United States. Global Terror Organizations know the cartels have cracked the code on infiltrating our borders, so they have formed partnerships to bring terror assets into our country and pay high prices to the cartels for their services. This isn’t hyperbole. This is real. The dismantling of the cartels may not entirely end border infiltration, but it will certainly reduce it and increase our national security as a result.

By the way, any INTERNAL appointed or elected US politicians who DON’T support this probably need to be investigated as well for potential illegal affiliations.

I know some of you are fearful our military would overstep their bounds. I believe we need to redefine their limitations and make an adjustment. While using the military to attack and destroy the cartels OUTSIDE the United States seems like a “no-brainer”, I am reluctantly proposing we do the same INSIDE the United States.

Yes, a partial and conditional and clearly defined suspension of The Posse Comitatus Act is in order.

These groups like MS 13 and Tren de Aragua are well armed thugs and need to be dealt with by professionals. Nothing against our law enforcement agencies, but they are trained and built to save lives, not end them. Our Tier 1 units are the best killers in the world. That’s what they do, and they are good at it. Let’s not put the Law Enforcement community in a position they shouldn’t be in.

These gang members are part of the cartel structure. They are the “end of the line” when it comes to drugs, human trafficking, intimidation, and all illegal activities. We need to attack the structure from both ends. If these young men and women want to brazenly walk around with an MS 13 tattoo on their forehead, our operators should put an exclamation point on it… traveling at about 3,200 feet per second. That should be part of the rules of engagement; if you see a tattoo, you are cleared to engage. Period.

It is the right time, with the right leadership, and the right environment. Let’s go on the offensive. Let’s bring the real Pipe Hitters into the fight. Let’s protect our nation from the close proximity threat. Let’s destroy the cartels.

Please, President Trump…

Let the Dogs Off the Chain.
