I Will Choose Violence

I am a peaceful man, but I will choose violence.

I have the right to protect myself.  I have the right to protect my family.  I have the right to protect my property.

Inside or outside of my home.

You do not have the right to harm me.  You do not have the right to harm my family.  You do not have the right to damage, destroy, or steal my property.

Inside or outside of my home.

You do not have the right to tell me that I am required to run.  You do not have the right to tell me that I am required to sacrifice my safety, my family’s safety, or the safety of my property to the evils of this world.

Inside or outside of my home.

You do not have the right to tell me HOW to protect myself, my family, or my property.

Inside or outside of my home.

If you choose to hope and pray the evils of this world never touch you, that is your choice.

If you choose to hope and pray violence never reaches your doorstep, that is your choice.

If you choose to rely upon the goodness of others instead of expecting their evil, that is your choice.

If you choose to rely upon the protection of others instead of protecting yourself, that is your choice.

This very argument is happening right now in court and in Congress.  People other than you are attempting to dictate your ability to protect yourself once you step outside your home.  Knowing full well that criminals DON’T ABIDE BY THE LAW, people other than you are attempting to dictate how law abiding citizens protect themselves from criminals.

Handcuffed.  Handicapped.  Put at a disadvantage.  Those people are putting YOU at risk.  They are putting YOUR FAMILY at risk.  They are putting YOUR PROPERTY at risk.  They are determining YOUR worth is LESS than that of someone who is breaking the law.

It will not matter to them if you die because they kept you from carrying a gun outside your home.  They will ensure the criminal that killed you gets a fair trial.  It will not matter if your family are the victims of violent crime because you couldn’t carry a gun outside your home.  They will ensure the criminal that attacked them will get a fair trial.  It will not matter if your car, watch, credit cards, or money are stolen.  They will ensure the criminal that stole from you will get a fair trial.

And it won’t matter to them if any of those criminals actually get caught.  Or even prosecuted.  They won’t care about you.  Or your family.  Or your property.

Not me.  They aren’t going to tell me how to protect myself.  Or my family.  Or my property.

Not me.  I will not peacefully lay down to a criminal.  I won’t let them harm me.  Or my family.  Or steal my property.

Not me.  I will choose violence.
