Who Else Knew?
As many of these “bombshell” stories (insert sarcastic voice here) of President Biden’s mental decline throughout his term emerged, many of us responded with “Yeah, no kidding.” Even as the agents of State-Run Media like ABC, MSNBC, and CNN published these stories, it wasn’t a shock to the majority of the American public. Yes, President Biden has been on a rapid decline for a number of months and even years. We knew that.
It was, even to the most skeptical like me, a bit of a shock how bad it was as far back as the stolen (yes, we can now confidently say it was stolen) election of 2020. I always knew President Biden was a terrible public speaker. I knew he was not all that intelligent. I knew he was a habitual liar. I knew his family dealings with foreign entities were subject to much scrutiny. With all that on the table, keeping Joe in the basement during that election was a great strategy. It was 100% in line with the famous words from President Obama about Joe’s ability to “fuck things up”.
Over the last few years, though, there have been PLENTY of people that have passively or actively hidden the mental decline of the President. Passive efforts were made by EVERY single cabinet member who were never questioned but also never said anything as they watched President Biden slowly morph into a potato. There were lots of people actively hiding the decline with a smile and a lie. While it really is the job of the White House Chief of Staff and the various professional liars like Jen Psaki and Karine Jean-Pierre to speak on behalf of the President, they have a moral obligation to NOT lie to the public. Which they did. Daily.
That got me thinking…Who Else Knew? Who else lied, loudly and/or repeatedly, about the mental state of the President?
As a retired Army officer who spent a career in brutal After Action Reviews that look inward at the organization, I naturally looked at the Department of Defense. Secretary Austin, who I blogged about after he went Missing In Action for a hospital stay, was first. While he is complicit, I could not remember him actively defending President Biden. Kinda tough to do that when you’re trying to play defense of your own incompetency.
That brought me to General Milley. It’s no secret I am not a fan of the man. I once watched him make life more difficult for a young officer at the National Training Center, servicing his own ego by making sure that Battle Captain who was trying to simultaneously manage three radio networks knew that he, General Milley, used to serve in the unit undergoing training. It was needless bordering on cruel. That was my first contact with General Milley, and it left a bad taste.
Then I watched him as the Army Chief of Staff where his reputation as an egomaniac gained much attention. It is hard to hide being grossly overweight and in poor physical condition while talking about the Army’s newest physical fitness test while wearing the newest Army physical fitness uniform. It is also tough to embody any type of humility when you stand in front of a War College class, talking about how you are smarter than everyone in the acquisition process and Congress should just give you a credit card to outfit the entire Army with a new pistol of your personal choosing. Because why? Because you’re smarter and everyone else is an idiot.
I watched him as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs when he spouted off about President Trump and did nothing to hide his PERSONAL opinion of the COMMANDER IN CHIEF across national news networks and talked openly about the TREASONOUS act of calling China WITHOUT authorization or guidance.
Then, General Milley, in all his arrogance and obesity, sat on 60 minutes and gave an interview where he talked about his 44 years of faithful service to the nation and the Constitution. He said he didn’t comment on President Trump’s mental fitness and that he wouldn’t do it regarding President Biden. He said it would be highly inappropriate for the senior ranking military officer to do.
And then he immediately went on to contradict himself by giving an assessment of President Biden’s capabilities, saying he had regular contact with President Biden, and he was “just fine”. He elaborated using words like “alert” and “sound” and spoke about the President doing all the appropriate reading and finished by saying the American people didn’t have anything to worry about regarding President Biden’s ability to make sound decisions regarding life or death, war, or nuclear weapons.
That was ONE YEAR before the election as General Milley was retiring.
And now we all know that just wasn’t true about President Biden. Numerous White House staffers and people very close to him have said the President was in mental decline the entire time he was in office, and it was a concern all the way back to the election of 2020.
So, for a guy that had “regular contact” with the President for THREE YEARS, General Milley didn’t see any decline in the President? The same guy who was so worried about President Trump that he called our greatest adversary but wasn’t worried about President Biden who was in such mental decline starting BEFORE his election that he was hidden from the public. Got it.
General Milley knew. He just lied about it to maintain his own power. He knew if he said anything, he would be fired or forced to resign. And his boss, the Secretary of Defense, wasn’t saying anything either. So, why should he?
Why? That 44 years of faithful service to the Constitution and the nation is why.
You, General Milley, were obligated to say something TO THE NATION you claim to have faithfully served. But you didn’t. You chose to lie instead. You chose to keep that from the American public by ACTIVELY hiding the decline of the President.
You knew, General Milley. You put the nation at risk for your three years as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under President Biden because you knew the President was mentally incapable and you said nothing. Lack of integrity. Lack of intestinal fortitude. Lack of courage. Your legacy and your reputation should reflect exactly that, nothing more.
Now that I have put that into the air, the question is…. Who Else Knew?
